Walk The Width

Updated: Apr 8, 2022

As of April 1st, our team will be walking the distance equal to the widest east-west point across Thailand. The distance will be split between each team member, resulting in a cumulative total of 780km and we will be encouraging sponsorship through donations to our GoFundMe which can be found here.

Right of the bat, we should make it clear that rather than exclusively 'walking' we will be achieving the distances through any method of travel, including but not limited to; cycling, running, walking, and the use of various gym equipment.

As full time students who are not only within the 2-months-to-go planning stages of our expedition ('2 Months To Go' blog incoming) but also preparing for our end of year exams next month, this will be quite a challenge. However, we are excited to be raising money for our research with the added bonuses of getting to know each other better as a team and ensuring we maintain active lifestyles building up to what will be a physically demanding 6 week expedition.

So here we go, 30 days of travelling accumulating to 780km. We will have weekly updates, including photos and personal stories from our team members as they complete their distances so keep your eyes out for all the juicy gossip.

Please donate whatever you can to our GoFundMe which can be found here to encourage our team members to get their distances in, we still have a way to go to reach our fundraising target. Fundraising is a huge part of our expedition going ahead and we can't wait to get out to Thailand and start our research.

Thailand here we come!
